When will you receive your refund?

That answer depends on how and when you filed your tax returns. The IRS should issue your refund check in six to eight weeks after filing a paper return. If you chose to receive your refund through direct deposit, you should receive it a week after they process the paper return.

If you use e-file, your refund should be issued between two and three weeks after the return was sent to the IRS.
